Plate of Lies is the perfect opening track gliding along seamlessly, whilst grabbing your attention with its big energy and catchy melodies. It’s a massive chorus that gets stuck in your head. I can hear a bit of The Shins and also Vampire Weekend in there but it’s quite possible these boys wouldn’t even know them.

Shotgun Style keeps the energy going with some fast, fun-filled surf rock pop sounds. I can’t help referencing The Strokes ‘Is this it’ album when I hear this, which is always a go-to for me if I am craving that kind of rock and roll feeling.

These guys are all about the good times, I can sense there is a real rich chemistry going on, which is especially impressive in a debut EP.

Kettle floats along nicely with the band slowing it down a bit with this chill tempo. This song makes you feel like you’re walking carefree around on a sunny day. These guys really appreciate drinking tea, with the ultimate ode to the most important element to making it with this title’s reference.

Bottles bring’s back the pace with this fast, fun party tune. I like the simple titles with mostly singular words as this band gets to the point with their indie garage tunes.

We finish the EP with the song Teeth which is the slowest jam on the release. It’s a reflective piece and brings diversity to the band’s palate. I appreciate the honesty in the lyrics, ‘I think I have tea-stained teeth, nothing from the chemist works for me’.

I’m looking forward to hearing what these Sandringham boys have for us next.
